Due to organic growth in the Brisbane sales team, we are seeking a suitably qualified Business Development Manager in the Government sector on a permanent full time basis.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented Business Development Manager who has proven success delivering solutions and services within the Public Sector.
 
As a trusted advisor, you will leverage from your impressive list of high-profile leaders within the Queensland Public Sectors (State and Local) to comfortably hunt opportunities and lead high-level conversations.  With your strong sales focus and drive, you will continue to grow your network coverage and exceed sales targets.
  
The core objectives and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager are:
  • Plan and prioritise sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business goals, including sales - especially managing personal time and productivity
  • Identifying sales leads and managing these through the sales cycle
  • Driving strong pipeline of work for our service offerings
  • Perform effective strategic account planning and engagement
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement practices and Queensland government ICT panels
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, vendor certifications and skills
  • Maintain good business relationships with assigned customers and prospects Effectively and accurately represent Datacom to the customer and prospects in all sales efforts
  • To co-operate with all members of Datacom to help achieve team objectives for the overall success of Datacom
  • Producing reports on your activities including real-time sales forecasts
To be considered for this role you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience in working with Queensland government departments and agencies
  • Excellent sales qualification skills with proved ability to negotiate and close win/win solutions for all parties
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written
  • Experience with selling cloud, managed service and outsourcing services to government
  • 5+ Years of sales experience with the Queensland Government
