With over 4,800 people, and revenues of over $1.1 billion, Datacom is one of Australasia’s largest professional IT services companies. We are currently seeking an experienced Network Specialist to assist our well known Government client on a 3 month engagement. 

As the Network Specialist (Operations) you will provide high level technical expertise for the development, implementation and support of information technology infrastructure and processes in the complex and diverse operating environment of the department.

About the role: 
  • Act as an integral part of the Departmental ICT operations teams; providing leadership and support to other operational teams, regional ICT teams, school representatives and other Departmental staff, in relation to Service Delivery and new technology development
  • Contribute to the preparation of written and verbal advice, including briefing papers and technical documentation for the consideration of management and clients in relation to information technology services.
  • Support the manager in preparing, monitoring and managing operational budget and resources
Key Requirements:  
  • Knowledge of modern IT networking technologies.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology 
  • Manage and coordinate minor projects to implement and upgrade ICT infrastructure and systems.
  • Knowledge of project methodologies such as   Prince 2. 
  • Lead an operational team in an agile environment.
  • Proven ability to provide written communications and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Effective management and interpersonal skills to support team outcomes and service delivery; including problem solving, decision making, and conflict or disagreement management.

  • Microsoft Azure PAAS / IAS;
  • Amazon AWS Services – CloudFront, S3, Beanstalk;
  • Microsoft IIS;
  • Microsoft SQL Server (including SQL Azure);
  • Microsoft .NET Support V1.1 – 4.5.x ;
  • Enterprise 2010 – 2013;
  • Windows Server 2000-2012 Administration;
  • Windows PowerShell;
