We do not stand still, we keep evolving, as a Datacom Senior System Engineer your knowledge, and more importantly ability to learn and apply your skills, will be an a key success factor as part of our Systems Management team.
Deep root cause analysis and trouble-shooting skills are your bread and butter, as are applying the findings these key areas in the organisation, People, Process, and Technology. If you can put some Dev into the Ops or at least push yourself to try then we like you already.
You will already reside in New Zealand and have appropriate visa status to work here.
What we look for in our SSE’s:
• Passion for understanding our customer’s needs – you’ll be commercially astute and a self-starter
• The knack to easily multi-task between our varied client environments
• A solid understanding of standard server computing, networking and Internet fundamentals
• The ability to take ownership, with a hands on approach, to learn and to adapt
• Honest and transparent communication with excellent organisation skills
• Pride in representing us
• Desire to work independently and with minimal supervision, but backed by senior managers and your peers
Your technical opinions matter and you are encouraged to improve the systems you manage, such as:
• Microsoft product range, focus on core server fundamentals (2008+) Virtualisation (VMware 4.1+ or Hyper-V 2012+)
• Azure IaaS, Classic and ARM
• Cloud services, e.g. Office365
• Citrix (v5+), Hyper-V
• Exchange (2013, 2016)
• Scripting / automation experience will open up even more doors
• A mind-set of simplification
• Certifications would be beneficial, as is an ability to continuously learn and apply
