This role sits in our Tools and Automation – Monitoring team and will play a key role in its ongoing success.
This is a hands-on technical role that requires you to be a positive ‘people person’ with strong relationship skills, and is ideal for someone with interest and experience in Nagios and Automation technologies such as Ansible. We look for initiative, natural technical curiosity, communication and technical skills that are essential for a position of this nature. We’re particularly interested in those with experience in Ansible, as that is a key technology for us, but we would be open to training in Ansible if you have the other attributes we are looking for.
We are looking for someone with the following technical skills:
- Experience in Linux server administration.
- Experience using Ansible.
- Experience with scripting or programming.
- Understanding of TCP/IP network/Internet concepts and RDBMS database concepts and technologies.
- Understanding of virtualisation with specific emphasis on On-Premise, IaaS and public-cloud concepts.
The following is a real advantage:
- Experience implementing/managing tools such as Puppet, Chef, SCOM, PRTG, SolarWinds, Manage Engine, etc., or similar.
- Experience writing scripts (Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, Power Shell etc.) will be an advantage.
If required, there is a need to participate on a rostered basis to assist with after hours on call support.
You will need to be able to pass the required government security clearances so will need to have been resident in NZ for at least five years.
